My name is Amy!
I'm the face, creator and author of AmyCaseyCooks. What started off in 2007 as a way to share recipes I made for my family blossomed into a personal chef business, a newspaper recipe column, a food blog chronicling the dinners I made for my family and my current recipe blog with over 300 original recipes that reaches 1 million readers a year.

On AmyCaseyCooks you'll find my best tried and true personal chef recipes for you to make in your own kitchen. These are the ones my clients and family request over and over again and include Smothered Pork Chops with Mushroom Gravy, Beef and Snap Pea Stir Fry and Buttermilk Fried Chicken Tenders.
I've perfected every recipe I share with you. My easy recipes (many take less than 30 minutes to make) are restaurant quality, homey and comforting dishes, but with a modern twist.
I call Manasquan, New Jersey my home, and there's no place I'd rather be. Along with my husband John and our dogs Clarence and Murphy, we love the beautiful beach, quaint downtown and the friendly locals that make the little town a gem along the Atlantic Ocean.
Cooking is my passion
For as long as I can remember, I have spent time in the kitchen perfecting my culinary craft. I'm self taught with over 45 years of cooking experience. No matter my age or where I was living, my life revolved around food and cooking.
I spend much of my time testing recipes, reading cookbooks like novels, writing blog posts and making cooking videos. When I receive a comment from a reader that they enjoyed one of my recipes, it fills my heart with joy. I love helping home cooks prepare delicious food for their family and friends.
Whether it was whipping up a batch of cookies with a childhood friend, bussing tables at the local hamburger joint while in high school, scooping ice cream to earn money for college, making brunch at my 65 sorority sisters, feeding my family three square meals a day, writing a newspaper column about my latest recipe creations, or planning, grocery shopping, and preparing delicious meals for my personal chef clients, I can always be found in the kitchen.
Personal chef life
After working in restaurants and cafes, I knew that wasn't the life for me. With 3 kids and an active family life, cooking nights and weekends just wasn't a lifestyle I wanted. One day while surfing the internet, I stumbled on a personal chef website. I could share my love for cooking with many families, but on a schedule that fit my way of life.
Fast forward and now I have 20 years of personal chef experience and cooking for over 300 clients. I've cooked 1000s of delicious restaurant quality recipes. All my clients' meals were made in their home kitchens. Each menu was personalized to their individual tastes and dietary considerations.
I typically cooked for clients every week. I'd shop for the freshest and highest quality ingredients. Then I'd arrive at their home, carrying groceries and any necessary kitchen tools. Depending on the menu, cooking and clean up took between 4 to 6 hours. I packaged and labeled all meals and placed them in the refrigerator or freezer. Then A menu listing all items and heating instructions will be left, your kitchen will be clean.
I wouldn't trade my time as personal chef for anything. I met many wonderful families and someday hopefully will write a book with all my experiences.
Food columnist and blogger
As a food writer I worked as the food columnist for the New Jersey Herald for 6 years. My column featured recipes I prepare for my clients. All of the recipes are my original creations and are featured in my cooking videos.
I'm the author of 2 blogs including the 5 year project of Dinners for a Year and Beyond. The labor of love was an online cookbook for my family and friends. It chronicled the dinners and reviews of my cooking for our 2 daughters, son and my husband.
My most recent recipes can be found under the Recipe Index of this website. They're client favorites from my work with over 300 personal chef clients. I include personal chef culinary tips so you can be your own at home chef.
