Description

This is the best way to make a big batch of Cheeseburger Sliders in not time at all. Bake 1 large patty in the oven, top with American cheese and cut into 24 sliders. Serve these crowd pleasing sliders on mini rolls with pickles, ketchup and mustard.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 medium onion (finely diced, about 1 cup)
  • about 1 1/2 pounds for ground beef (85/15 blend)
  • 1/2 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 6 slices of American cheese
  • 24 dill pickle chips
  • 24 small slider rolls (sliced)
  • Ketchup and mustard for serving

Instructions

  1. Turn on oven: Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Prep baking dish: Spread the finely chopped onions evenly over the bottom of a 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Set aside.
  3. Combine slider ingredients: In a large bowl, add the ground beef, bread crumb, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Gently yet thoroughly combine the ingredients.
  4. Form the sliders: Press the meat mixture evenly over the onions in the baking dish.
  5. Bake the sliders: Bake sliders for 10-15 minutes or until browned and no longer pink in the middle.
  6. Dab the grease: Remove from the oven and blot the top of the sliders with paper towels. This will soak up some of the grease.
  7. Add the cheese: Top the sliders with the American cheese. Return the sliders to the oven for 1 to 2 minutes or until the cheese is just melted.
  8. Cut the sliders: Remove the sliders from the oven and cut in to 24 squares. Put on buns with a dill pickle.
  9. Serve: Serve with ketchup and mustard.

Notes

  • The patty may "crack" while it is baking. Press it back together before topping it with the slices of American cheese. The melted cheese will hold it together.
  • The sliders can be made in advance. Prep, cook and assemble the sliders and let completely cool. Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Reheat covered in a 350 degree F oven for 10-15 minutes.
  • Reheat 2 sliders at a time in the microwave on 60% power at 30 second intervals until heated through.
